How do i get my son calm down?

He is 4yr old..and he is serve adhd..and is allready on 4 meds for it..but there days u cant even tell he on his meds..so when he very hypet and angry..how do i calm him dwn wit out whoopie him?? Plz someone tell me what helps..and his dr wont raise his meds up again?? Im goin nuts..plz help me if u can.. :(
